It amazes me the challenges we face as humans. The majority of us are ADDICTED to life and we will do whatever it takes to survive.

well, not quite, western philosophy promotes do all it takes to survive. But eastern philosophy teachs life is but just one of many stages, everybody will die soon or later. Trying hard to hold on to your life is furtile, better death than walking around looks like a nightmare.
