Data Feed Comparison InteractiveBrokers vs Lightspeed trading vs Zenfire

Data Feed comparison Interactive Brokers vs LightSpeed Trading vs ZenFire on ES Futures. Zenfire and Lightspeed trading data feed for ES appear to be the same speed and true raw tick by tick data whereas IB gives 0.2-0.3 snapshots of data.

So which broker do you use primarily now? Did you make the switch to a better broker? IB is a piece... I'm gonna switch to zenfire or another, faster broker, soon.

I have my 512 tick charts not updating after hours and for a week after we switch to the next quarterly contract.

You definitely don't want to use tick charts with IB. There's so many people that don't know about the way IB aggregates there data and how it changes how the chart is presented. I'm leaning towards opening a new account at Lightspeed trading because there commissions are much cheaper. Commission is one of my top factors in determining a broker, also a reliable and fast data feed, and good customer service. I've spoken support and tested out the LS platform and I like it. For charting I will likely stick with quotetracker because its so easy to use. Although Ninjatrader is becoming the next big thing, I still think QT's charts are much nicer all around. I will likely use my TDam or IB account to feed QT's charts and trade through lightspeed. I don't trade off tick charts so getting every tick doesn't matter to me when looking at charts, however, getting faster fills and being able to read the tape by using lightspeed or zenfires data feed is important to me. Lightspeed does have an API gateway and so does QT, its only a matter of getting the two to connect via the API and viola, good data on QT charts.

Good points my friend. I actually still have an account at Lightspeed, unfunded at the moment, but with my experience with them they were very fast, the symbols were very easy to use, such as "/ESU9" would just get you the ES futures for this month, instead of stupid IB saying GLOBEX:@ESU9 and don't get me started on how long it took me to find the gold futures symbol (there's three white spaces in the symbol!).

I might just do an ACAT's back to lightspeed cause I'm through with IB, although the problem is that I don't see Lightspeed Trading in Ninja trader's connection list... unless they can run a feed through another service thats in the list.

Ib's service is bad, I agree, the IM, chat based support is horrible, they don't know what you're talking about if you ask anything beyond stocks. However, what about the CME Floor subscription under IB? Will that do anything to speed up the data feed?

Well, I know my last point was just answered by your statement about the API, but its still a matter of when someone will actually code it and when its released, will it be fully functional or beta, its all a matter of time. But for now we have to adapt to both pieces of software and each have their own strengths. Yes I do agree that QT's charts are easier to navigate through.

By the way thanks for helping me w/ indicators all along, espeically compare to nyse-tick combined w/ the open point value. Although our indicators are probably different but similar, I haven't given them out either...
